

Edgar Elwin Stewart, Jr., 94, of Paris, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Brentwood Terrace. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Edwards officiating. Private burial will follow at Meadowbrook Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Stewart, the son of Edgar Elwin Stewart, Sr. & Clara Mae Bush Stewart, was born July 9, 1922, in Higginson, AR. On Feb. 27, 1941, he married Alice Mae Seaton, building sixty-nine years of family and memories before her death on Nov. 15, 2010. He served in the U. S. Army from Feb. 18, 1944 – April 9, 1946. His career as a machine operator at Westinghouse/Phillips Lighting spanned more than twenty-five years before his retirement. He was a member of Springlake Baptist Church. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a brother, Salathiel Stewart and a son, Jerry Wayne Stewart. Survivors include two sons, Don “Mark” Stewart & wife Tawana of Reno and Roger E. Stewart & wife Kathy of Powderly, one daughter, Susan K. Chapman & husband David of Reno, grandchildren; Marcie Forga & husband Jim of Caddo Mills, Jered Stewart of Paris, Emlie Headley & husband Jonathan of Paris, Heidi Stewart of Shreveport, LA, Noah Stewart of Shreveport, LA, Erik Chapman & wife Mandy of Viewpoint, Benjamin Chapman & wife Michelle of Stillwater, OK and Brie Grimes & husband Alan of Ada, OK; great grandchildren, Nicholas Forga, Nicole Forga, Sarah Forga, Brandon Forga, Rylee Chapman, Anzli Chapman and Eleanor Headley, two sisters-in-law, Thelma Stewart Anderson of Roxton and Dorothy Autrey of Texarkana along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
