Gayle Frances Merritt

Gayle Frances Merritt, 76, of Blossom, quietly departed this life on the evening of Jan. 7, 2017, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Susan Leddy officiating. At a later date her cremated remains will be inurned in the Columbarium of Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Gayle, the daughter of Bryan & Carleen McAden Jennings, was born April 26, 1940, in Runnels County, Texas. She was a graduate of Ballinger High School, and went on to become an LVN. In later years she was a caregiver, working in the Dallas area. She enjoyed her work. Gayle was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blossom and the Blossom Garden Club. She loved animals, the outdoors, gardening, a pretty yard was something that was important to her besides her daughters which she loved more than anything. She was an excellent cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hon. David S. Merritt and her parents. Survivor include her children; Rebecca Jones & husband Jack of Blossom, Theresa Merritt of Paris, and Cynthia Lewis & husband Rick of Mesquite, grandchildren, Luke Montgomery, Jake Montgomery and Chrissy Jones, a brother, Bobby Jennings & wife Carol of Ballinger, a sister, Joellen Rosser & husband James of Abilene along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
