James Preston Erwin, 61, of Paris, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016. Burial will be made at a later date in the Erwin family plot of Ladonia Cemetery. Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. James, the son of Henry Monroe Erwin, Jr. and Bobby Jean Tankersley Erwin, was born Oct. 1, 1955, in Commerce. He attended Fannindel School, graduated from Commerce High School and attended Paris Junior College. James managed Lamar Gardens and worked as a buyer for Belk. He and his wife, Glenda, owned and operated Paris Florist for a period of time before James began designing for several area florists. His parents and a step-daughter, Melany Rae Hatcher Mitchell, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Lee Erwin, a brother, Henry Monroe Erwin, III and wife Kathy of Cooper, two sisters, Jackie Hooten and Vickie O’Neal both of Paris, a step-daughter, Debbie Bridgers & husband Robert of Marvin, five grandchildren, Jeremy Lollar, Ashley Sims, Jacob Teehee, Danielle Walker & husband Shaun and Erin Mitchell, a great grandson, Devyn Finch along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
