Jimmy L. Collier, 80, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Springlake Assisted Living. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Olson officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Collier, the son of John Harvey & Evelyn Chlorene Doolin Collier, was born July 26, 1935, in Paris. He attended East Paris Elementary and graduated from Paris High School. Upon graduation Jimmy entered the military serving twenty years in the U. S. Air Force before retirement. He then began working for the City of Paris as manager of Cox Field Airport for thirty years before retiring from that position. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Scott Collier. Survivors include a brother, John Richard Collier & wife Pauline of Forney, three sisters, Janice Joyce Olson & husband Dean of Georgetown, Martha Ferebee & husband Robert of Jourdanton and Betsy Haynes & husband Dale of Greenville along with a number of nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.
