Kenneth Eddie Applegate

Kenneth Eddie Applegate, 79, of Blossom, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside memorial services for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at Knights of Honor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:00 p.m. Friday at the cemetery. The family will be at the George Applegate home, 171 CR 44800, Blossom, for those wishing to visit the family. Mr. Applegate, the son of Ree & Marie Woods Applegate, was born June 18, 1935, in Smith Co., TX. His career as a truck driver for Earthgrains spanned eighteen years before his retirement in 1992. He had received his Million Mile Safe Driving Award while driving for Earthgrains. Kenneth was an avid fisherman and enjoyed dirt track, singing and coon hunting. Survivors include his wife, Joyce McHam Applegate, with whom he shared 63 years of family and memories, five children, Melanie Slaton & husband Roy of Lindale, Kenneth Wayne Applegate & wife Kathy of Mineola, Johnny Glenn Applegate & wife Linda of Tucson, AZ, George Ree Applegate & wife Kerri of Blossom and Patricia Aguinaga & husband Lazaro of Paris, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two brothers, Connie Ree Applegate and J. W. Applegate both of Lindale along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
