Lee Campbell, 69, of Paris, passed away at his home on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, following a lengthy illness. Cremation is under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Following Lee’s instructions, a formal service will not be scheduled. Lee, the son of James Wallace & Dorthea Bates Campbell, was born Nov. 5, 1947, in Galveston. He attended Dallas schools. Lee was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces having served in Vietnam. He later moved to Lamar County where he owned and operated Campbell’s Transmission in Reno. Lee was an avid golfer and loved to fly. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Campbell and a brother, Jack Campbell. Survivors include his wife, Grace Harrell Campbell, children; Tracy Holder of Oklahoma, Shawn Campbell of Paris, Shelly Pope of Denton, Marcie McDougal of Paris, Amber Beyleryan of Paris and Clay Friddle of McKinney, fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers, Gary Campbell & Jim Campbell both of Dallas, two nephews, one niece, and his constant companion, Maddie, along with a host of friends.
