Martin Arnold Vandergriff, 80, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home scheduled graveside services for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11th, at Restland Cemetery in Roxton. A formal visitation is not scheduled. Mr. Vandergriff was born Oct. 3, 1935, in Lamar County. For many years he was the custodian for the Paris Police Department. He helped his wife, Martha, at First Baptist Church where she was a custodian and worked in the children’s department. Martin was a minister of the Gospel, being of the Baptist Faith. He was an excellent carpenter and could build anything. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Moore Vandergriff, on March 25, 2015. Martin is survived family members and many friends. John 3:16 was the most precious verse in the Bible to Martin.
