

Paul Richard Jackson, 78, of Deport, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled funeral services for 2:00 pm, Monday, November 16, 2015, at the United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Robert Myre & Rev. John David Griffith officiating. Burial will be made in Highland Cemetery at Deport. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Paul, the son of Virgil & Ruth Warner Jackson, was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Deport. In 1955, he graduated from Deport High School and joined the United States Marine Corp serving from 1955 – 1959 at Camp Pendleton, California. In 1959, he began working at UARCO where his career spanned 34 years. He was a cattle rancher and had been a board member of the Beefmaster Association. Paul was a longtime, faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church where he taught Sunday school. He served as president of the Teen League Baseball and coached Little League Baseball and Football. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Doris Hall Jackson, whom he married on April 11, 1964, building 51 years of family and memories, five children, Kathy Boaz & husband Mike of Paris, Geron Jackson & wife Glenna of Pattonville, Dina Broadway of Reno, Paula Shonebarger & husband Paul of Paris and Paul Alan Jackson of Deport, 16 grandchildren, Kimberlee Peel, Brian Watson & wife Nicole, Bradley Broadway, Brandon Broadway, Kelli Unruh & husband Trey, Brett Shonebarger, Laney Jackson, Lexie Jackson, , Kylie Jackson, Kolton Jackson, Kyler McCoin, Kayla Raney & husband Hunter and Erin Boaz, 10 great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jackson, Brooklyn, Caleb, Luke, Brody, Blakely, Aiden, Ava and Hudson, one brother, Benny Jackson & wife Roxie of DeQuincy, LA, one niece, Amanda Guerrero & husband Mark, 2 great nieces, Stella & Luci Guerrero, a special friend and neighbor, Billy Wayne Anderson along with a plethora of friends. Casket bearers will be: Paul Shonebarger, Mike Boaz, Brett Shonebarger, Brian Watson, Bradley Broadway, Brandon Broadway, Trey Unruh & Kyler McCoin. Honorary bearers will be: Billy Wayne Anderson, Arlton Bristow, Don Nabors, Bob Bolton, R. C. Clark, Billy Trenado, Charles Davidson & Rab Skidmore.
