

Robert Hancock Blair, 78, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Crosswhite officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the family home, 3350 Robin Road, following the service. Mr. Blair, the son of Robert Seymour & Mary Hancock Blair, was born June 29, 1937, in Bell, CA. He grew up in Whittier, CA, graduating from high school and then attending Chouinard Art School and the Los Angeles School of Design. It was at this time that he joined the U. S. Army, serving five years in the Army Reserves. He was a successful artist and traveled the United States selling art for over twenty-five years. Robert then moved to New Mexico and began working for San Juan County, New Mexico where he later became manager in the solid waste management division. His career there spanned seventeen years. It was on April 18, 2015, that he and his wife made Paris their home. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steven Blair. Survivors include his wife, Billie Scharnhorst Blair, two daughters, Melissa Blair of Stockton, CA and Carla Lord of Santa Fe, NM, two step-sons, Tom Pruitt & wife Shanna of Paris and Steve Pruitt of Paris, one step-daughter, Sherry Blizzard & husband Jim of Fairbanks, AK, five grandchildren along with other extended family and a host of friends.
