

Rolland Gregory Hansen, the beloved son of Reverend W. Gene and Nettie Hansen, was born January 2, 1961, in Clarkston, Washington. He graduated from Buhl High School in Buhl, Idaho, in 1979, and later earned his degree from Northwest Nazarene University in 1994. October 5, 1998, Rolland married the love of his life, Larissa, with whom he shared a beautiful family. Their children include Bijoux (Bryson), Madison, Kennedy, and Cameron.
A devoted educator and coach, Rolland dedicated over 30 years of his life to teaching and mentoring students in various schools across the Northwest, including Parma, Idaho; Adrian, Oregon; Fossil, Oregon; Parker, Arizona; Moses Lake, Washington; Omak, Washington; and finally returning to Parker, Arizona. His passion for teaching and coaching profoundly impacted the lives of countless students and athletes.
Rolland attended Calvary Baptist Church in Parker, Arizona, where his faith and dedication to his community were well known. He passed away on August 11, 2024, in Gilbert, Arizona, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer and complications from surgery.
He is survived by his loving wife, Larissa; his children, Bijoux, Madison, Kennedy, and Cameron (Mason); his brothers, Rod (Nancy) and Ryan (Shonee); his sister, Ronda (Mike); and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly. Rolland was preceded in death by his parents, W. Gene and Nettie Hansen, and his son, Damon.
Rolland will be remembered for his dedication to his family, students, and faith, which never wavered. A memorial service will be held at Parker High School (new gym) in Parker, Arizona, where his life will be celebrated by all who loved him.
