She was born March 26, 1929 in Parkersburg, a daughter to the late Harry S. and Lyda M. Dougherty. She was a member of the Marrtown Road Church of Christ before moving to Montana 23 years ago.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth E., Harry F. and James P. Dougherty, and one sister, Marjorie D. Showalter, three brothers in law, Charles L. Plum, Ray Stanley, and Eugene Petty.
She is survived by one brother, E. Edward Dougherty (Eva) of Norwalk, OH, three sisters, Lillian Plum of Parkersburg, Olive “Becky” Petty of Williamstown, and Ava Lee Stanley of San Antonio, TX, one brother in law, Hubert Showalter of Columbus, OH, two sisters in law, Reba Dougherty of Parkersburg, and Barbara Dougherty of Paradise, TX, along with several nieces and nephews.
At her request Barbara was cremated and a memorial service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012, 7 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Douglas Petty officiating.
