Betty Kiser Straight Garst

She was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Roane County, a daughter to the late Bert Straight and Goldie Raines Straight Freshwater. She was a registered nurse for many years at Camden Clark, and was a member of the 1st Christian Church, Parkersburg. In addition to her nursing, she loved gardening, planting and enjoying flowers, and bird watching.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouses, William L. Kiser and Harold Garst, and brother- in- law, Glenn Batten.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Kiser (Darlene) of Washington, Pat Kiser (Gloria) of Cincinnati, OH, and Rod Kiser (Donna) of Plano, TX; step- children, Becky and Roger Cutlip of Parkersburg, Debbie and Chet Victor of Marietta, OH, Mike and Jody Garst of Belpre, and Tim and Kim Garst of Columbus, OH; brothers, David Freshwater (Suzanne) of Spencer, and Larry Freshwater of Kenna; sisters, Jorita Batten of New Matamoras, OH, and Mary Virginia King (Mike) of Spencer; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Service will be Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, 11 am, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Michael King officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
