Carol Sue Carpenter

She was born April 13, 1941, in Rainelle, WV, a daughter of the late Roger William and Ora Gay (White) Coulter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David “Bus” Coulter of Columbia, S.C.

Sue was a member of the Fairlawn Baptist Church, Parkersburg, and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Karl Carpenter of Parkersburg; daughter, Carla S. Fox and her husband Doug of Washington, WV; son, Douglas B. Carpenter and his wife Lisa of Charleston, WV; brother, Joe A. Coulter and his wife Nancy of Williamstown, WV; sisters, Ruth Bryan of Marietta, OH, Ginny Cottrell of Washington, WV; 5 grandchildren, Erik G. Fox and his wife Savannah of Washington, WV, Shanon S. Dye and her husband Sonny of Parkersburg, WV. Brian Carpenter and his wife Katie of Charleston, S.C., Ben Carpenter and his wife Elizabeth of Morgantown, WV, Emily Carpenter of Morgantown and five great grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Jason Spade officiating. Interment will follow in the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
