Chloie Lorena Batten

Chloie Lorena Batten, 97, of Belpre, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 10, 2019, at Arcadia Valley Nursing Home in Coolville, Ohio, Chloie was born May 5, 1922 in Wood County to the late Homer and Missouri Thompson. She married Patrick Joseph Batten, Sr. on October 9, 1954. Chloie was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, an excellent cook, a pumpkin pie enthusiast, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by one son Patrick Joseph Batten, Jr., (Teresa), four sisters: Dora (Don), Helen (Russell), Oncie (Elsworth), and Georgia “Pork", two brothers: Grover “Bubby” and Truman (Ruth), and grandchildren: Erica (Justin), Abby, Amber (Joseph), and Patrick, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Chloie was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Joseph Batten, Sr., one brother: William (Vera), and two sisters: Etta (Bill) and Nellie (Kermit).

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Dobby Thrash officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
