Cody was born December 2, 1932 in Big Bend, West Virginia to Earl Roy and Fannie {Martin} Reed.
He was an Army Veteran serving with the 325th Airborne Battalion of the 82nd Division in the Korean War and retired as a custodian at Blennerhassett School. Cody also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Cody will be deeply missed by his 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 sister.
Cody was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia, 1 son, and 5 siblings.
Visitation will be October 18, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jamie Sprague officiating. There will be no graveside services. Online tributes may be made at www.sunsetparkersburg.com
