David H Nicholson

He was born December 7, 1959 in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Paul Nicholson and Hattie “Waggoner” Nicholson.

David graduated from Parkersburg South High School in 1978. He retired as a Pipe Fitter for the Pipe Fitters Union Local 565. He was a devoted Christian, deeply rooted in his Baptist faith, he was a longtime member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church. He was dedicated to his church and served in many capacities there. His relationship with the Lord was the foundation of his life, and he embraced his faith wholeheartedly. David was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved being outside. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with his family, friends and neighbors.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Tammy Nicholson; sons, David (Brandi) Nicholson, Trey Nicholson; brother John (Lynn) Nicholson; sister, Terry (John) Knox; grandchildren, Lucy, Jeremiah, Aiden, Sammy, Caede, Matthew, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Nicholson and nephew, Eric Casto.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. February 24, 2025 at South Parkersburg Baptist Church with Janelle Skinner officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Sunday February 23, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. at the church.
