Edgar "Ed" Lee Wallace

Ed was born June 13, 1949 in Parkersburg to John Edgar and Carrie Amelia {Byrd} Wallace.

Ed was a United States Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired in 2009 after 28 years as the Head Custodian at the Wood County Board of Education. Ed was a member of the American Legion Post 15, The Moose Lodge and The Eagles. He attended Stout Memorial Methodist Church, delivered meals for Old Man Rivers and was a member of the church choir, men’s softball team and an active member of Methodist Men. Ed liked to deer hunt, go camping and fishing and liked to go bowling. He also loved to garden and grown his own vegetables. He loved helping people and everyone who met him loved him.

Ed married Loretta June Smith in 1990.

Ed will be deeply missed by his wife, Loretta of 26 years, daughters, Leesa Ferguson of Parkersburg, Lora (John) Stavrakis of Vienna and Leslie (Ken) Keffer of Marietta, son, John (Angie) Suek of Mineral Wells, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brothers, Russell (Rosalee) Wallace, Mike Wallace, Chester Wallace, sister Jane Park and his beloved dogs, Fifi and Chico. .

Ed was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Russell officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
