Jessie Edith Towner

She was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Central Station, WV a daughter to the late Charles and Bessie Opal Cavins. She was a homemaker, a member of the Lubeck Church of Christ, and was an avid fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jerry Michael Towner Sr., son, Jerry Michael Towner Jr., grandson, Scott Andrew Wigal, son in law, Carol Lewis Wigal, six brothers, and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, Doris Hodge (Bob) of Lake Placid, FL, Sherry Lowers (Rob) of Lubeck, Sally Towner of Lubeck, Theodore “Teddy” Towner of Lubeck, Christopher Towner of Lubeck, Amy Norton (David) of Martinsburg, WV, and daughter in law, Linda Towner of Washington, grandchildren, Kristy Thomas (Don), Justin Kiser (Sara), Jared Towner (Tabby), Jessica Towner (Rachael), Byron Towner (Brooke), Jacob Towner (Alisha), and River Norton; great grandchildren, Chase, Kati, and Brayden Kiser, Brandon, and Alex Lawson, Drew, and Taylor Towner, sisters, Doris Bibbee of Bay City MI, Patricia McDonald of Brandonburg, KY, Tommy Evans of Fayetteville, NC, and Kitty Parsons of Irvington, KY, along with several nieces and nephews. Her joy was her four grand dogs, George W., Mitt Romney, Elvis and Priscilla.

Service will be Sunday, July 8, 2012, 2 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Steve Fuchs officiating. Burial will follow in the Duckworth Cemetery, Greenwood, WV.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
