Norman Walker Smith

Tony married Fay VanFossen of Harriettsville, Ohio on October 8, 1960. They have two children - Teresa L. Williams and Steven N. Smith, both of Parkersburg, WV. They have three grandchildren: Katie L. Williams (Brandon) of St. Georges, DE, Steven Corey Smith and Nikeisha Harvey of Parkersburg, WV. They have three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ryett and Radley as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Larry and Inez Smith, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Archie and Pearl Vanfossen, two brother-in-laws, Marvin Vanfossen and Gene Boggs, and his nephew Mark Vanfossen.

Tony graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1957. He was in the 1092nd Army National Guard from 1959 to 1965. Tony retired from the Carpenters Union 899 in 2009 after 60+ years. He was active in Boys Scouts and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army for many years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many memorable fishing trips in the United States and Canada.

Tony was a life-long church member and taught Sunday school for many years. He touched many lives throughout the years and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all.

Services will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens located at 1934 Dupont Rod, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Visitation will be Thursday, April 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, April 10th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m.
