He was born July 18, 1943, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Richard R. and Elizabeth Fankhauser Cramlet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Nancy Frye and infant great granddaughter Macy.
Dick was a life long member of the 7th Street United Methodist Church, Parkersburg and was a Scout Master of BSA Troop 6 for 18 years. He retired from the Parkersburg Fire Department with 23 years of service. He served his country in the Army National Guard 1092nd Engineer Battalion retiring after 20 years. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid WVU sports fan.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Judith (Carpenter) Cramlet; sons John L. Cramlet and his wife Marie, Michael L. Cramlet and his wife Amanda both of Parkersburg; sister Sue Ellen Johnson of Vienna; brother Jeffery L. Cramlet and his wife Teri of Columbus, OH; 5 grandsons; 3 granddaughters and one great grandson.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the 7th Street United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, with Pastor Brad Davis and retired Rev. Norman Butler officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday April 18, 2018 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
