

Richard (Louie as he was called by his fellow co-workers)was proud to be a Union Sheet Metal worker and was a member of Sheet Metal Local 33 in Parkersburg, WV. He spent many years perfecting his craft at Murray Sheet Metal before retiring at Singer Sheet Metal with over 30 years in the trade. He attended Pleasant Valley Church. He loved his family and loved to hunt,fish and grow his garden but above all he loved the Lord.
Richard will be greatly missed but will forever hold our hearts and our memories. He was a loving husband, a wonderful daddy and a caring grandfather. He never met a stranger and shared his love of Christ to all he encountered. He leaves behind a noble legacy.
He is survived by his beloved wife and sweetheart of 56 years,Sue Lewis, son Straude(Melissa) Lewis of Wagoner OK, daughter Saebra(Michael) Pauley of Parkersburgt WV, 4 Grandchildren Jared(Ashley) Pauley of Little Hocking OH, Colette(Walter) Mace of Parkerburg WV, Sterling And Arielle Lewis of Wagoner OK and 2 great grandchildren Ashton and Mathan Pauley of Little Hocking OH, one sister Dinah Evans Jackson of Little Hocking OH, special cousin Melvin Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lucy Lewis of South Parkersburg WV and his father Olandus Smith of Macfarlan WV, three sisters Edna Lewis, Viola Spencer and Linda Knotts and three brothers Russell Lewis, O.O. Buddy Smith and Bob Smith and grandparents Oren O. (Oak) and Jessie Smith.
Visitations will be Friday February 17th from 5-8pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home,Parkersburg. Funeral will be Saturday 2pm at the funeral home with close family friend Pastor Tommy Blake officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Cleveland Clinic, Care Haven of Pleasants and Marietta Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and sincere compassion they showed Richard and his family.
