Sarah Beth Smith, age 33, of Parkersburg, WV passed unexpectedly on Monday, February 17, 2020 at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center. She was the daughter of Don and Debby (Grose) Auch. Sarah was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. With an infectious smile and a personality that would light up a room, she never met a stranger. The hole she leaves in the lives of so many is immeasurable. She enjoyed her job as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center because of her coworkers and patients. To her, every person was an opportunity for a new friend. Sarah is a graduate of Parkersburg South High School and Wheeling Jesuit University. She loved watching her daughter grow and play, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She is survived by her husband, Jessie; her daughter Molly; her parents Don and Debby Auch, her brother-in-law Zach Dye and nephew Sawyer Dye; her grandmother Joan Auch along with many other loved family members. She is preceded in death by her sister Jessica Dawn Dye; maternal grandparents David and Wanda Grose; paternal grandfather Donald Auch II; aunt Patricia Kyer and uncle Mark Grose. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, February 24 at Fairlawn Baptist Church, Parkersburg, with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Sunday, February 23 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dear Jack Foundation www.give.dearjackfoundation.org or the Acute Myeloid Leukemia Fund at The James Cancer Hospital, for everything they did for her beloved sister Jessica.

Don and Debby,
Words cannot express how very sorry and heartbroken I am for you and your family. I had the pleasure of coaching Sarah for a short time when she was little and what I remember the most is her contagious laugh and bubbly personality. You always had to laugh when she laughed! Many prayers and hugs for all of you and the family.

I met Sarah through cheer. She cheered with my sister from bullets through Blennerhassett and her dad was one of my gymnastics coaches. I still remember her as a little girl. So curious and sweet...her questions are some of my favorite memories from that time in my youth. ❤️ She was always smiling and having fun. Through Facebook and Instagram, I have been able to see her get married, start a family, etc., and I am so very proud of her. She will be terribly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone through this difficult time.

Debby Auch and family.... I only knew Sarah for a short while since she joined Camden Clark. Sarah was always very friendly and welcoming of the patients I delivered to her area. She was very nice to me and we chatted a little. I’m so very sorry for your loss. You have been through so much in the last few years. My heart aches for you all. I pray that the love and memories you all have will give you comfort. Sarah was a beautiful young woman. I loved her smile. She will be missed.

As parents that have known the Auchs for many years, plus our great grandson, Bentley going through pre school for 3 years with Mollie. Our hearts are breaking for you, for Molly and Jessee. You have our love, our prayers. Many times taking Sara and Whitney to dance when so young . There are no words. Just prayers to ease the pain. Our love to all you, Karen and Keith Rippeto

Sweet Sarah....so many words to describe her. Beautiful, caring, sweet, kind, fun, just pure joy to be around. I could go on and on. Sarah cheered with my daughter Kayla and we had the privilege of knowing Don, Deb, Sarah and Jessica for years. In the past year, I have gotten to reconnect with Sarah as a neighbor and it has been a real joy. She loved her hubby and Molly so very much and her entire family. Her smile would light up any room. We will miss her so much. I pray God would wrap his arms around you Jesse, Molly, Don and Deb! We are close by and if any of you need anything, we are here. I pray for you often and that will continue. Hugs!

I have known Sarah since she and Eric were preschool age. I have not seen her much since she grew up but I have a memory of her that has been on my mind since she passed away. I went with a group of teens from Fairlawn Baptist to Youngstown Ohio, when she and Eric had graduated sixth grade. It was their first trip with the youth group. Sarah was such a sweet girl. She was always smiling. She wanted everyone to get along and she was kind to everyone. What stays with me most happened the last night we were there. We had a Bible school each evening in a host backyard. After the lessons were over the kids could interact with the other kids and then go swimming in their pool. Some of the kids had paired off with others and were witnessing to them . I looked over and Our sweet Sarah was kneeling in front of another little girl who was also kneeling. They were holding hands and Sarah was sharing Jesus and praying with her. I hope her little girl grows to be like her. I wish I had taken a picture. It was such a precious moment. My heart breaks.
