Born on July 19th, 1943 in Montreal Quebec, Ann was the first “Casey” grandchild and the darling of that large Irish family in Ottawa Ontario. She attended St Stephen’s school in Chelsea Quebec and according to her school friend Joyce (Boucher) McGloin, she was the smartest kid in the class. After graduating from St. Patrick’s Elementary and Notre Dame High School in Ottawa, Ann worked in many capacities for the Bank of Montreal in Toronto and Vancouver. Her son Stefan arrived in 1969 on her 26th birthday! What a gift.
After working many years at the bank and in her spare time being an international lacrosse mom and getting involved in selling dis and dat, Annie met Bob Donald (from Ocean Falls BC) in 1998 and they tied the knot in the pouring rain on August 22, 2004 on the farm in Langley BC. Bob and Annie spent many happy years entertaining and travelling but their most memorable trips were from Qualicum Beach to Newfoundland, first in their camper and later in their fifth wheel, stopping in many parts of Canada to visit friends and family.
Annie (and Bob) were known for their generosity, great parties and dedicated volunteerism in their home port of Little Qualicum River Village. Bob predeceased Annie passing away suddenly on September 19, 2021 in Logan Lake BC. Annie soldiered on moving back to the coast and got involved in another passion – making music with her jammin’ buddies at the Crown and Anchor pub in Qualicum Bay. Annie was part way through another cross Canada trip to celebrate her 80th birthday when she became too ill to travel and returned home.
Annie leaves behind her son Stefan Bohn and daughter-in-law Deborah Bolingbroke-Price, Burnaby BC; step daughter Catherine Johnson, step son-in-law Duane Johnson and step grandson Cameron, White Rock BC; her sister Claire Heffernan and brother-in-law Dan Mooney, Quadra Island BC; nephew Michael Anderson, Edmonton Alberta; Aunt Eileen Casey, Ottawa Ontario; sister-in-law Deanna Charlton, North Vancouver and nieces Laura Charlton, Vancouver and Lisa Charlton and partner Craig Chalmers, Maple Ridge; step sister-in-law Laura (and Ron) Wright, Langley; Former partner Gerhard Bohn and partner Flora Carillo, Burnaby BC, Ursula Bohn and partner John Sharples, Calgary AB and Gabriel Taylor (nee Bohn) and John Taylor, Flin Flon, MB and countless cousins and friends in every nook and cranny of this country she loved so much.
