Bonnie is predeceased by husband, Hugh. Survived by son Dan (Laureen) and daughter, Jan Hobbis; grandchildren Jason, Chris, Shea, Mike and Kellie; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Isabelle, Alexa, Callum and Liliana.
Bonnie was born in Victoria on December 26, 1924 . As a young woman, worked at Spencer's Store. Later, she spent her time as a devoted mother. When the kids left home, she worked as an Education Assistant with the Sooke School District before retiring to Paksville.
After retirement, she indulged her major passion - volunteering, especially at Arrowsmith Lodge and the Meals On Wheels Program through SOS. Mom always considered herself one of the luckiest women alive. She had a husband and family she loved dearly, great friends, the chance to travel, and the time and energy to help others. She'll be sorely missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at Yates Funeral Home, 1000 Allsbrook Road in Parksville on Friday January 18th at 1:30 PM. Refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Special thanks to Dr. Bell and the Glenview staff at Stanford Place
