Betty CRANE

Betty, of Nanaimo, BC, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 87 .  Born in Vancouver on February 21, 1931, Betty was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Norman.   She is survived by her sons, David of Port Coquitlam, Nick of Mission, Lawrie of Nanaimo;  daughter, Sandra of Vancouver; grandchildren, Kim, Jodi, Jason, Nicholas, Jordan, Christopher, Daniel, MacKenzie and Alayna; great-granddaughter, Crystal.

Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Service will be held in Betty's honour in the Allsbrook Room at Yates Memorial Services, 1000 Allsbrook Road. Parksville, BC at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. Flowers gratefully declined.  Donations in Betty’s memory can be made to the BC Alzheimers Society at [email protected]

Not, How Did She Die, But How Did She Live?

Not how did she die, but how did she live?

Not what did she gain, but what did she give?

These are the units to measure the worth

Of a woman as a woman, regardless of birth.

Not, what was her church, nor what was his creed?

But had she befriended those really in need?

Was she ever ready, with word of good cheer,

To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?

Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,

But how many were sorry when she passed away.
