Brian is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol; twin sons Ross and Brent McLellan; daughter, Debbie Knapp; and son, Ron Brown. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren; two step-sisters; and numerous extended family and friends.
Born and raised in Nelson, BC, Brian joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at a very young age and served in Comox, BC for approximately 2 years. He then joined the Victoria City Police where he worked until a position became available in the Sheriff's Department. His career with the Sheriff's Department spanned a period of 30 years. Brian retired in 2003. After retirement, he enjoyed travelling and especially loved to take cruises which allowed him to visit an assortment of countries and cities with his beloved wife Carol.
Brian was very active and participated in many plays at Echo Players Village Theatre in Qualicum Beach, BC over the years. He very much enjoyed acting before live audiences. Comedies were his specialty and greatly suited his quirky sense of humour and outgoing personality. His recent interests were designing and working in his backyard gardens growing beautiful plants and flowers of which he enjoyed immensely. Brian also loved to golf and was an active member of the Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club.
Brian will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday June 26th at the Eaglecrest Golf Course Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring Brian’s memory by making a donation in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Donations Department, 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V2.
