Darlene June Potts

Darlene was born on July 5, 1949, in Kelowna, British Columbia, and moved to Sutherland, Saskatchewan, with her family in 1952, where she made her home and built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

After high school, Darlene enlisted in the Air Force, where she proudly served for five years. Following her military service, she moved to Ontario, where she worked as a Postal Worker before embarking on a new career as a certified massage therapist. Darlene’s caring nature and strong work ethic were evident in everything she did, and she was deeply committed to helping others.

Later in life, Darlene moved to Vancouver Island to be closer to her older sister, Dolores, where she continued her work as a caregiver for adults with disabilities. Her compassion and dedication to the well-being of others left a lasting impact on those she cared for, and she made a meaningful difference in the lives of many.

Darlene was a happy, independent woman who brought joy to everyone around her. Known for her quick wit and a sense of humor that could light up any room, she loved to hear a good joke and was always ready to share one of her own. Her infectious laughter and playful spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Darlene will be deeply missed by her friends, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She was predeceased by mother Eilleen Potts, Father Charlie Potts, Brother Ray, Sister In-Law Audrey Potts, Brother in-law Frank Rawcliffe. She is survived by sisters Dolores Rawcliffe, Lil (Rej) Grenier, Penny (Norm) Raynard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Yates Memorial in Parksville in the fall, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember Darlene.
