David is mourned by his wife of 51 years, Elaine, and his daughters, Danuta (Dino) Gigliotti, and Natasha (Kajle) Radbourne. He was a deeply beloved Grandpa to Owen, Elliot, Evelyn and Alithea Radbourne, and Matteo and Gemma Gigliotti. His grandchildren will forever hold dear the memory of “Grandpa Dragon.” David is also survived by his brother and best friend, Frank Holm, and numerous other friends and family members.
A lifelong scholar, David earned his PhD from Yale University in 1978. He dedicated his professional life to public service, working for the Provincial Government in Victoria, BC before continuing his career as a History instructor at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George, British Columbia, where he influenced countless lives through education and faith.
David was truly a wonderful man—faith-filled, loving, and deeply grounded in what mattered most in life. There will be a public Memorial Service to honor this wonderful man at Yates Memorial in Parksville on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Reasons To Believe Organization, revealing God in Science.
