David John Simon

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of David John Simon on November 15th, 2023, in Parksville, BC. He is now with his parents, Joseph and Mary Simon (nee Mackenzie), sister, Marilyn Bathurst, brother, Leonard Simon, and son, Aubrey Simon. David is survived by his beloved spouse of 30 years, Emily Doyle, his daughter, Amanda Ford, extended family, Stacy Doyle (Lana), Dwayne Doyle (Tammy), and grandchildren, Cullen and Wren Doyle, Olivia and Finnley Doyle.

David was born in New Westminster, BC and raised on the Eastside of Vancouver. He graduated from Van Tech, and lived in a number of cities across BC, including Vernon, Cranbrook, Kelowna, and Parksville. He had many skills and trades which included building his own house and remodeling several. His main trade was Heavy-duty Mechanic, retiring from the equipment maintenance shop at Gorman Bros Lumber in West Kelowna.  

David’s family was always his number one priority, and second to that was his love of fishing, both fly fishing and trolling in the ocean. He was also a passionate musician, playing with a number of friends/bands.

David, aka Papa, was well known to be a man of both integrity and compassion and moved through his life with a kind heart and a gentle spirit.  As he is at peace now, he is already dearly missed and will be lovingly remembered by his family, his friends, and for the many contributions to the lives of those he loved and cared for.
