It is with saddened hearts that we share with you the passing of Tim and Bruce’s sister, Diane, at the hospice at Trillium Lodge in Parksville. She was a fighter; getting any chance she had to get out, walking around the beautiful gardens with her friend, Janine. She’d give us a call if she wanted to go shopping in town, for a half hour or hour, using every ounce of energy to simply enjoy living. Diane often talked about her dear friend, Greg, who visited her often. She developed an “instant friendship” with him when they first met years ago. Diane was very proud of the beautiful painting she did of a beach while at the hospice. She loved animals, wanted to know what antics our cat, Tikket, was up to or the stories we told her about Tegan and Chris’ new puppy, Nala.
We would like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses at Trillium Lodge who devoted their energy and time to making sure Diane was pain-free and able to enjoy her last months of life. We know she loved living there and we feel indebted to the staff for their amazing support.
We would also like to thank Yates Memorial Services, particularly Steve Knapp, for his calming assistance in navigating us through the process of laying Diane to rest with her mom, Bette and brother, Bobby in a beautiful grassy setting by a pond. We appreciate all that you have done for us and for Diane.
We know you are at peace, Diane, laughing and sharing stories with loved ones.
