Now, with the passing of our father from leukemia we would like to celebrate his life. Dad was a bold entrepreneur with the idea that hard work and determination would help you succeed. He developed many of the subdivisions and homes that now dot the Parksville/French Creek area. Starting in the early sixties he would work the night shift in Port Alberni and build homes during the day.
At this time Dad also started a private water utility which we built into the second largest private water utility in the province. During this time he also took the unusual step of starting a fishing lodge in Northern Saskatchewan with his late brother-in-law Mel Jaimeson. We are not sure why or how this started but the north has become an important part of our family.
Dad also had a passion for travel and continued to travel up until the past year. He visited many different countries over the years and always had stories to tell. These were usually relayed during coffee break every morning.
We would personally like to thank all his friends and past and present Kasba staff who have stopped by in the past couple of months to visit one last time.
His vitality, passion, and drive will live on through his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Nyna, sons Michael (Suzanne) and Robert (Louise), daughter Barbara (Douglas) Farrington, and their mother Doris Hill. He is also survived by grandchildren Michelle Hill, Andrew (Meghan) Hill, Matthew (fiancée Amanda) Hill, Daniel Farrington, Crystal (Robert) Wright and great-grandson Robert; also survived by brother Donald, niece Catherine Hoggan, and nephew Leonard.
He is predeceased by his parents Donald and Ida Hill, brother William, and sister Helen (Mel) Jaimeson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25th from 3 to 6 pm at Tigh-Na-Mara Resort in Parksville.
