Born March 25, 1930 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, he went to school in Saskatoon and Revelstoke, and then travelled to Montreal. Doug studied business and accounting through Queen’s and worked for Kraft Foods in Montreal and Chicago for 35 years as Construction manager for North America.
All creation was his passion… skiing, camping and hiking in the mountains, snorkeling and scuba in the seas of the world, and exploring the great cities and cultures of every continent.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elinor; brother, Bruce Motta (Roberta); niece, Leslie Niepage (Ray, children Brian & Erin); nephew, Steven Motta (Mary, children Cam & Fran); nephew, Robert Motta (Sephine); and nephew Richard Motta (son Kyle).
He was always good & true… an honourable man who loved freedom and people, and was much loved himself.
He is now with the lord.
