Giovannina Angela Lorenzon

Giovanna Lorenzon passed away March 2, 2026 at Trillium Hospice, at 97 years of age, predeceased by her husband Luigi Giovanni Lorenzon, who passed on Dec 26, 2001, 1 Sister (Anita) and 3 Brothers (Onorio / Aldo / Ferdinando)

Giovanna was a loving and caring lady who never found fault in anyone. She always had a smile and had many stories to tell. She moved to Canada in 1960 from Ponte di Piave Italy, leaving for a new adventure. After meeting up with her husband, they settled in Port Alberni and raised their 3 children before moving to Qualicum Beach in 1969. In Qualicum Beach they worked hard on their little hobby farm, garden, making cheese and wine.

Giovanna loved to visit and see people; she was a frequent visitor at Eagle Park Seniors home in Qualicum, Trillium Lodge in Parksville and Port Alberni; where she would spend time with friends’ playing cards, sharing lunch or just offering some companionship.

Giovanna was a great cook and it was never just a simple meal; it would always be a 3-course meal! The one thing she loved to do was make sure everyone had enough to eat. She always found it hard to accept a compliment, but when she did, you would always see this little smile appear, she loved it and we will all miss your little ways and big heart.

She leaves behind to grieve her 3 daughters; Renata (David), Giuliana, and Antonietta. As well as, 1 brother Vittorio (Giuliana) and 2 sisters Clara, Mariarosa (Umberto) in Italy, and many nieces, nephews and cousins living in Italy, Australia and South America and many other family members and friends. Giovanna will be missed by many friends from Qualicum, Nanaimo, Port Alberni and from elsewhere on the Island.

She was often heard saying “Never do or say anything you would have to apologise for”

We miss you Mamma and wait for the time when your hand will be in ours to guide us all home.

Love you then, now and ever...riposa in pace ….. Service to be held at The Church of Ascension, Parksville, BC. Giovanna will be interned at the Qualicum Beach Cemetery.
