Harry passed away peacefully on the afternoon of February 24, 2014 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Predeceased by his first wife Ila (Patterson) Turner, he is survived by his loving wife, Verna Turner; sister, Vera (Frank)Roth; step children, Loren (Bob) Hooton, David (Gisela) Hykawy, Linda (Garth)Markewitz, Richard (Barbara Judt) Hykawy, Barbara(James) Halipchuk, Harold Hykawy, Michael Hykawy, Gordon Hykawy, Beverly (Roger) Compain; many nieces and nephews; step grandchildren, Carmen Fawcett, Raylene Hooton, Brock Hooton, Crystal (Phil) Parenteau, Jen Gorda, Nick Gorda, David Hykawy, Brian Halipchuk; step great grandchildren, Mason Fawcett, Kylee Fawcett, Bentley Gorda and René Parenteau.
Harry had a passion for hunting, fishing and gardening. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour at 11:00 am on March 11, 2014 at the Yates Funeral Chapel.
