I never met you but I feel I know you from how fondly and lovingly Shelagh talked about you. An anchor, a cornerstone, a soul mate. I know how much your physical presence will be missed but I also know that you will claim your rite and watch closely over those who love you. I hope as they grieve they will feel your love surrounding them because now you are as close as the air they breathe, the sun on their faces, the gentle breeze that passes by. 

Claim those wings Roy and fly. Be at peace with your soul.

Though I did not know my Uncle Roy well, I will miss his laugh (which I remember fondly) and his wonderful, detailed, stories about his parents, Sidney and Florence, his brother, David, and his sister, Rhoda. I will especially miss his reminiscences of my grandparents' lives in Tetbury and their move to British Columbia. Though families sometimes drift apart, for reasons unknown or sometimes forgotten, shared histories bind us together.

With positive thoughts to my cousins, Heather and Shelagh.

When we first came to know Roy, he's already in his 80's, but his sharp hearing 
and agile movement simply defied the fact. He's always full of laughter and humor.
Roy kept enlightening us with high spirits, even during some heavy blows.

It's very sad to say goodbye to such a friend, neighbor, father and brave soldier.

Dear Heather and Shelagh, so sorry to hear the news about your dad. Thinking of you both, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Proud to have known Roy. He was always interesting to talk to and one could tell that he enjoyed learning new things all his life. He liked to lend a hand, as he often did to us, and his advice was greatly valued. 

Thank you Heather for all the love and care that you gave him. I am sorry for your and Shelagh's loss and pray for strength for both of you in this difficult time.
