Celebration of Life 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 Jericho Road Church, 5100 Tebo Avenue in Port Alberni Her cheerful good nature will be missed by friends and family. Karen leaves daughter, Anita (Phillip); sons, Helgie (Mary Ann), Ernest (Tineke), Asker; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas and son Robert (Annie). Karen and Thomas arrived in Port Alberni from Denmark in 1953. They loved the rugged beauty of the Valley and the adventure of creating a life with their family in a new country. Interacting with the community for many years at the family's McCoy Lake Farm, they grew strawberries and produce. Karen loved hosting large family gatherings and exploring BC in their camper. The family appreciates the care given Karen, for several months by the staff of Echo Village. A Celebration of Life will be held in honour of Karen at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Jericho Road Church, 5100 Tebo Ave (former Mt Klitsa School) in Port Alberni.
