Leslie was born on May 28, 1964 in Victoria, BC, where she remained until early adulthood. She later moved to Kamloops, BC, where she pursued her career as an exceptional bartender and where she met her long time partner, Bill Kjeldsen.
When Leslie's health deteriorated (due to rare blood disorder), she and Bill moved to Parksville, BC, where she could be closer to her mother and brother. A number of years later, Leslie underwent a double lung transplant which allowed her 11 more years, unencumbered by an oxygen tank.
Leslie was always up for a good laugh and a good time. She was a busy person , doing what she could for others, within her physical limitations. She maintained a good attitude right up until the end. She was an incredibly brave person who taught the people around her how to laugh in the face of the storm.
She will be dearly missed.
Leslie was predeceased by her beloved sister, Debbie Cook, her mother, Shirley Cook, grandmother, Sadie Hill, Uncles Bruce, Barry and aunties Bev and Patsy.
Leslie is survived by her spouse Bill Kjeldsen, her brother, Mike Cook, her step father Ryk Wierks, her father Barry Cook, her niece Kristy Carter and nephew Stephen Carter as well as the many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
