Sailing aboard the Empress of England they emigrated to Canada in 1967 with their two young sons, residing in Gimli, Manitoba until 1980, then moving to Waterloo, Ontario for twenty years until settling in Qualicum Beach to be with and watch her beloved grandsons grow up.
During Mum's lifetime she passionately enjoyed many activities, including, cycling, travelling (Scottish hostels, Alaskan cruises, Boston, California, NYC, Vegas, and the Pacific Coast were a few of her favourite adventures) golfing, curling, camping, horse back riding & swimming. Mary was an avid volunteer in every community she lived in, some of her favourite organizations were the Presbyterian church & equestrian therapy for children.
Alongside her family, Mary's greatest love was being in & enjoying nature, amongst the trees, flowers, birds, mountains, and especially oceans, any ocean, Mary was happiest. We will miss Mum's vibrant spirit, humour and love for life, she will forever be in our hearts and precious memories.

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Life is a mixture of sunshine and rain,
Laughter and pleasure, teardrops and pain,
All days can’t be bright, but it’s certainly true,
There was never a cloud the sun didn’t shine
Through.
So just keep on smiling whatever betide you,
Secure in the Knowledge God is always beside
you, and you’ll find when you smile your day will
be brighter and all your burdens will seem to be
lighter.
For each time you smile you will find it is true
Somebody somewhere will smile back at you,
And nothing on earth can make life more
Worthwhile,
Than the sunshine and warmth of a beautiful
smile.
