Melvin was born May 1, 1959 and spent his childhood in a small island community of Ramea, Newfoundland. Melvin is predeceased by his parents Samuel Allen Oxford and Jessie Oxford (nee Fudge) and a much loved brother-in-law, Lester Gillard.
Melvin is survived by his wife Kathleen Brewin Oxford, his four children-Shannon Hayman, Terra Leibold. (Brad), Mitchell Oxford and McCoy Oxford; two grandchildren Kaeden and Kenzley Leibold; six brothers-George(Joyce), James (Madeline), Barry (Audrey), Kevin (Fay), Lorne (Christina) and Derek (Andrea); sisters; Corilee Jesso (Reginald), and Audrey Durnford (Robert) and many nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank the staff at Trillium Hospice for all their support given to Melvin and Kathleen in his last days.
