Ronald Arthur Baxter, 88 of Parksville, BC passed away March 28, 2014 from lung cancer. Born in 1925 in New Westminster, British Columbia, he was the youngest son of the late Edwin and Florence (Nunn) Baxter. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Muriel (Reynolds); loving son Rick and daughter Shelley; two grandsons and one great grandson. His wife Muriel passed away just 10 weeks later. He was predeceased by both of his parents; his first wife, Marie; son, Scott; and brothers, Ted (Mary), Fred (Jean) and Jack (Dorothy).
Ron served in the Canadian Navy in World War II. He earned his degree from the University of British Columbia upon returning from the war. After retiring from his successful land surveying business in New Westminster, Ron and Muriel moved to Parksville and enjoyed lawn bowling, travelling and spending the winter months near Palm Springs California. Summer months would find Ron fly fishing at the mouth of the Englishman River or casting from his float tube on one of the many lakes on Vancouver Island.
