Stan moved from Liverpool, Nova Scotia (always home) to Port Alberni in 1963 and soon after began working at the paper mill. He retired as a Machine Tender after 41 years of service.
In his off time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping (especially with family and friends at Toquart), carving and woodworking. he was always tinkering and building something and not a wall in the house hadn't been changed at some point. He enjoyed walking his dogs Jack and Cassidy around the neighbourhood, doing about 5 k daily.
Stan was a great husband, father, grampa, and great-gramps. He may not have spoken the words often, but he loved all of you equally and very much, including a special love for all the grand puppies!
A special thanks to the nurses and care-aids for making it possible for Stan to be at home with his family. He loved all of you and called you his angels! Also a special thank you to Gayle for being there for him at WCGH.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. The family ask that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choosing in lieu of flowers.
