Her family is deeply saddened to announce that Tina passed away on December 15, 2025 at the age of 84 while at Nanaimo General Hospital shortly after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
She will be remembered by her husband of 56 years, Roger; children Alix and Owen; grandchildren Noelani and Sidney as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her father John, mother Helen (née Gleboff), brother John and sister Polly Anne Falkiner.
Tina was a gregarious child. Born in the Doukhobor communal village of Pass Creek, she spent most of her growing up years in Salmo, BC. Her nurturing spirit lead her to become a registered nurse working in hospitals in Vancouver, Nelson and Grand Forks. It also lead her to brush off her career to return to Salmo to help her brother with his newborn daughter, her namesake. Tina had a venturous married life, and lived in many different places, among them Revelstoke, Nakusp, Pahlavi (Iran), Kelowna, Houston,Williams Lake and Rocky Mountain House, AB. Once Roger retired, they settled on Vancouver Island.
At Tina’s request there will not be a service - rather, she wants her name added to the Falkiner family memorial bench on the shore of Upper Arrow Lake and to have her ashes scattered nearby. Her family plans to fulfil her wishes in the summer of 2026.
Always putting others first, Tina will forever be thought of as loving, caring and generous. She had a vibrant personality, and a wonderful sense of humour. She will be sorely missed.
Memorial donations may be made in Tina’s name at the BCSPCA and the BC Cancer Society.
