born April 3rd, 1933, died October 11, 2017 at the age of 84 years.
He was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He entered the U.S. Navy after high school during the Korean War. He was a Korean War Veteran. He worked at the Kansas City Star in the printing dept. He was a Boy Scout troop leader, and enjoyed remote controlled airplanes and golfing. He transferred to Houston working in the Houston Chronicle in 1978. He brought his 3 daughters, BeeAnn, Bonnie, and Beneta, and 1 son, Barney, to grow up in Pasadena, TX and become Texans.
After retiring from the Houston Chronicle, he continue to be actively working around people. He was a school crossing guard for the neighborhood grade school. He would be Pasadena's Santa Claus, with his wife, Mary, as Mrs. Claus. Sadly, she passed away too soon.
He fellowshipped with the Faith Memorial Baptist Church in South Houston.
He leaves behind his three daughters. His son, Barney, died in 2005.
He had 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
