She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pasadena; former member of Second Baptist Church of Pasadena; she enjoyed reading, cooking and taking care of her family. She worked at Pasadena ISD for 20 years at Pomeroy Elementary and started as PE Aide before retiring as the attendance clerk.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Dyess and husband, Steve; granddaughter, Julie Stefancik and husband, George; granddaughter, Lindsey Cosby and husband, Gabe; great-grand children, Tobias "Toby" Archer and Cadence Joy Archer along with nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Dan E. Austin; children, Phyliss Austin Hassell and Russell Edward Austin.
