

Margaret was born to Margaret and Eugene Damron in McAllen, Texas. As a child she was shy and very modest which she carried through out her life. There was not a person she did not like and she loved serving the Lord. Margaret met her husband Donald Lee Hammerly at church in McAllen, Texas. They married July 3, 1965 in McAllen, Texas and were married for 57 ½ years at the time of her death. Margaret and Donald had on son, Kevin and Margaret always called him her “miracle baby”.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Margaret also loved creating the most beautiful crafts which helped decorate her church during all holiday seasons. Margaret loved putting together puzzles and playing the piano.Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Margaret joins her parents, Margaret and Eugene Damron, Her beautiful niece Leah and other close family members in Heaven. Margaret is survived by her loving husband and soulmate Donald Lee Hammerly of Pasadena, Texas, Her only son Kevin and his wife Lisa, her only grandson Brandon and his fiancée Brittany, and her little great granddaughter Leighton Rae. Her brother Melvin and wife Pat. Norma Jean Langford, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Margaret Bernice Hammerly will be held at The Pasadena Funeral Home on Tuesday, the 24th of January at 10:00 A.M, with the burial at Forest Park East at noon. Pastor Michael Naron will be leading the services. Singing two special songs for Margaret will be Ashleigh Lawrence “In The Garden” also David Story “Old Rugged Cross”. In lieu of flowers Margaret requested that donations be made to her second home, her church. Second Baptist Church of Pasadena, 1320 Scott Street, Pasadena, Texas 77506.
