

Maria made her home in Pasadena, Texas, where she faithfully served as a payroll professional for Pasadena Independent School District for more than 20 years. She was known by colleagues and friends as dependable, kind, and always willing to help others.
Maria was a woman of deep and unwavering faith who loved the Lord and trusted in His plan for her life. She was a resilient, strong, and beautiful individual who never gave up, even through the hardships she faced throughout her life. Through it all, she never failed to keep her beautiful smile and positive attitude, inspiring those around her with her strength, grace, and trust in God.
She was a devoted and loving mother who cherished her family above all else. Maria had a nurturing spirit and a compassionate heart, and she also had a special love for animals. She was witty, funny, intelligent, loyal, and deeply compassionate. Her bright spirit and warm smile brought light and comfort to everyone who knew her.
In her free time, Maria enjoyed reading and crocheting—simple pleasures that reflected her patience and creativity. She also loved rainstorms, finding beauty and peace in the sound of the rain and the calm that followed
.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Virginia Castle; her son, Kyle Lewis; and her sister, Neva Kuhn.
She is survived by her father, George Castle, and stepmother, Dee Castle; her children, Michael Pleckham and his wife Mary Nolan Pleckham, Douglas Pleckham, and Amanda Riddle; her beloved grandson, James Landen Riddle; Daughter in law, Isabella Lewis; her former husband, Rick Pleckham and his wife Cindy Pleckham, who remained an important and supportive part of her life; and her devoted caretaker, Joy Babin, whom Maria lovingly called her other daughter.
Maria will be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering faith, and the kindness she shared so freely with family and friends. Her legacy of love, strength, faith, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
