Buddy Gartman was born November 20, 1936, in Lucedale, Mississippi to Raymond and Gladys Lucile Gartman.
Buddy was a long-time resident of Pasadena, he graduated from Basin High School in 1955 in Lucedale, Mississippi and graduated from Houston Police Academy in March 1962. He served our country in The United States Coast Guard for four years. Buddy served on the Houston Police Department as a Sergent and retired after 42 years in 2004.
He attended the Hope Community United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas. Buddy enjoyed spending time with his family and was described as a friend to all.
Buddy Gartman was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Gladys Lucile Gartman; sisters, Betty Joe Kirkland and Bessie Marie "Sissy" Marchand; son, Raymond Alan Gartman; grandson, Tyler Wayne Gartman. He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Sue Gartman of Moorehead City, North Carolina; sons, Lewis Edward Gartman and Jeffery Ray Gartman of Pasadena, Texas; grandsons, Kyle Andrew Gartman and Zackery Ray Gartman of Houston, Texas; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Buddy was an honorable Houston Police Officer, Father, Grandfather and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The Gartman family would like to give a special thanks to the Traditions Hospice Staff and St. Luke's Patient ICU Unit who took great care of him in his final days of life.
A visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 7, 2022, in the chapel of Pasadena Funeral Home at 2203 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena, Texas 77502.
A funeral Service will be held 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 7, 2022, in the chapel of Pasadena Funeral Home at 2203 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena, Texas 77502.
The graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the family Byrd/Helveston Cemetery on River Road, Lucedale, Mississippi 39452.
