Albert Leon Velasco, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at his home in Paso Robles, CA, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 11, 1934 in Santa Paula, CA to Jose and Louise Velasco. Albert was a 1953 graduate of Santa Paula High School. He married Linda Wilson on July 29, 1967 in Las Vegas, NV. Albert served 12 years in the U.S. Air Force, which gave him the opportunity to travel the world. Following his discharge from the Air Force in 1966, he worked for Hughes Air Craft and Point Mugu. He retired in 1996 after ending an 18 year career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He is survived by his wife Linda; daughters, Heidi, Lisa and Victoria; two grandsons, Christopher and Grant; a brother, Richard (Gloria) Velasco; sister-in-law, Sharon (Tom) Ede; brother-in-law Jim Garcia, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Albert touched are invited to the Paso Robles District Cemetery on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert’s name to the American Heart Association or Central Coast Hospice.
