Mr. Franklin was my fifth grade teacher at Georgia Brown Elementary School. He was amazing. He made learning come alive with his enthusiasm, his knowledge and his inventiveness in the many projects he created for us. I remember coming home from school that year excited to share what Mr. Franklin taught us. He is the reason I became interested in becoming an educator. I remember watching him teach us and saying to myself, “I want to do what he does.” I was never as good as Mr. Franklin, but my year with him guided me to the calling to serve children through a career in education.  I know he had a profoundly positive impact on his students, which I think many of us are paying forward in how we live our lives. 

Mr. Franklin was my 5th grade teacher at Georgia Brown. I can't think of a single thing I didn't enjoy in his classes. He taught us to play the auto-harp, make sheep fat dipped candles, separated water into its 2 parts,  hydrogen and oxygen. He was amazing. I looked forward to seeing him cheer for Georgia Brown as we walked by his announcing stand in the annual Pioneer Parade. His influence and impact on his students is everlasting. Enjoy your reward sir. A life well lived, a rest well earned. 

We both have special memories of Harold Al.  Times visiting at their home; times at family events.  We remember having fresh tuna with family members and how far out in the ocean he would go, in a small boat, to catch tune.  We know he loved teaching and he loved the out of doors.  AND he loved his Lord Jesus Christ!

Harold was a wonderful Christian man who served the LORD faithfully! I remember how he led the church in song on Sunday mornings, and how he would dress up for special holidays making it fun for all! We serve a faithful Creator so I know Harold is there with Him now around the throne with friends and many family. We confort each other with this truth 💖Love  to all

I had the great pleasure of working with Harold for two years at Georgia Brown in the early 1970s. He was a wonderful teacher and a delight to work with.  I really respected his approach to teaching,  his dedication to his students and the high expectations he had for them..  Even when it wasn't his turn to do yard duty he was often out there teaching the kids to play marbles when he could have been taking a well-deserved break. The world needs more teachers like him.
