Marijayne Taylor 65, of San Miguel passed away surrounded by friends and family on December 1, 2025. Marijayne grew up with a spirited heart and a love for adventure that stayed with her throughout her life.
Marijayne was born in Tulare, California on September 16, 1960, to Bob and Mary Ann Nelson. In 1982, she moved with her family to San Ardo California and in 1990, she made her home in the Paso Robles/San Miguel community where she worked for the Paso Robles School District for more than twenty-five years. She built a life filled with family, friendships, and unforgettable memories. Marijayne was a devoted mother to her three children Michelle, David, and Kevin and a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Elizabeth, A.J., Brice, Colton, Leah, Paul, Marceau, Charlie, Kia, and T.J. She was also blessed with three great grandchildren: Elaina, Harmony, and Peter, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Marijayne loved traveling, camping, fishing, and days spent at the beach, if given the chance she never missed a sunset. But nothing brought her greater happiness than time with her family and friends. Her personality was larger than life – she was always the life of the party, endlessly kind and generous, and someone who truly never met a stranger. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and included. Above all Marijayne lived her life putting others first.
Marijayne leaves behind her three children Michelle Brown (Andy), David Avila (Trina), and Kevin Taylor (Marie) her ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, father Bob Nelson (Pam), brother Chris Nelson (Tamee) niece Brittany Dostal (Jason), and great-nephews Jacob Burns and Aidan Burns, and countless cousins. She was proceeded in death by her mother Mary Ann.
A celebration of life will be held on January 17, 2026, at 11:00am at MJM Chandler Ranch, 9050 Gravel Rd. Paso Robles, California. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Marijayne will be deeply missed, but her laughter, warmth, and love will continue to live on in all who knew her.
